The series was serialized in Mr. Magazine from 1993 to 1995 and received the 1995 Kodansha Manga Award for the general category. An anime adaptation of the series was produced by Madhouse and premiered on NTV on October 1, 2002, consisting of 25 episodes. The series follows the story of a young boy who attains a special ability after an accident. The manga series has also been adapted into a live-action film, which was released in 2006 by Shochiku. The live-action film is subtitled Ghosts and a Tunnel of Secrets. The anime series is based on the original manga series, which explores the supernatural and the main character's experiences.
