Overview
Haibane Renmei is a 2002 television series that follows the experiences of a character named Rakka. The story begins with a dream of falling from the sky, followed by Rakka being born from a large cocoon. Upon her arrival at a location known as the Old Home, she is met by a group of female beings who possess small wings on their backs and shining halos above their heads. As the narrative progresses, Rakka develops her own wings and receives a halo, marking her integration into this group. She is subsequently instructed to perform work within the nearby town of Grie. Rakka eventually learns that the town and the surrounding world are entirely enclosed by a tall, impenetrable structure referred to as the Wall. The inhabitants are restricted from exiting this perimeter, with the exception of a mysterious group known as the Toga, who are the only individuals permitted to pass beyond the barrier.
