The story is set in a modern era where magic serves as a new energy source following the decline of science and technology. Humanity previously created forbidden biological weapons known as Gears, which eventually rebelled against humanity. Although humanity survived the struggle known as the Crusades, the losses were massive, and emotional wounds remain unhealed decades later.

The plot centers on Sin Kiske, the child of a human and a Gear. Sin heads to the wedding ceremony of his father, Ky, and mother, Dizzy. This union between a human and a Gear breaks the ultimate taboo, and although the world is at peace, it took many years for the ceremony to finally happen. Despite a complex array of emotions surrounding the event, the wedding is met with blessings until a mysterious girl suddenly appears. The encounter between the fated child inheriting Gear blood and the mysterious girl who despises Gears shakes the world.
