Germany's Next Topmodel is a German reality television series that first premiered in 2006. The program is based on a concept originally introduced by Tyra Banks with the series America's Next Top Model. The show is hosted by Heidi Klum, who also serves as the lead judge and an executive producer. The series aims to discover a new professional model through a competitive format. The first season of the show aired on the German television network ProSieben between 25 January 2006 and 29 March 2006. This inaugural season was the only cycle of the series to feature a cast consisting of exactly twelve contestants, whereas all subsequent cycles have included at least twenty-six participants. Throughout its run, the series has featured Heidi Klum alongside a variety of guest judges. The program was created by Steffen Müller. Additional individuals who have appeared on the show include Thomas Hayo, Peyman Amin, and Michael Michalsky. The series continues to be a part of the German television landscape as a long-running reality competition.
