Season overview
GameCenter CX season 1 features Shinya Arino, a member of comedy duo Yoiko, playing Japan's most popular video games and recording his progress. The CX in the title refers to JOCX, the call sign of Fuji TV. Arino's Challenge began as a short segment in this season. Most of each episode consists of interviews. The season introduces Assistant Directors, or ADs, including Naoki Yamada, who appears in only the first episode, and Shinichiro Tojima, who joins from the fifth episode onward. Typically, ADs graduate from the show after a season or two, but they often return in new roles or on special occasions. The show's format involves Arino working through a time limit, usually up to one day, as he plays video games.
