Overview

Game of Seduction, released in France on August 25, 1976, is a French drama film directed by Roger Vadim. The original French title of the movie is Une femme fidèle. The plot of the film is similar to the novel Les Liaisons dangereuses written in 1782 by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, though the setting is changed to the mid nineteenth century. The story follows a virtuous young woman who becomes the target of the schemes of an amoral womanizer. This man is in the habit of wooing women and killing their lovers and husbands in duels. When the young woman finally succumbs to him, she discovers his true nature. As a result, her newly awakened joy in passion turns to dust. Following its initial release in France, the film was released in Portugal on March 3, 1977, in Japan on May 14, 1977, in Spain on August 8, 1977, and in Finland on September 29, 1977.
