Overview
Fresh Off the Boat is an American television sitcom that premiered in 2015. Created by Nahnatchka Khan and produced by 20th Century Fox Television for ABC, the series is a single-camera comedy set in the 1990s. The show follows a Taiwanese family as they navigate life in suburban Orlando. The narrative centers on a hip-hop-loving child being raised by an immigrant father who is obsessed with American culture and an immigrant mother who is often bewildered by white culture. The series is loosely inspired by the life of chef and food personality Eddie Huang and his 2013 autobiography of the same name. Eddie Huang served as an executive producer for the program and provided narration for its initial episodes. The cast includes Randall Park, Constance Wu, Hudson Yang, and Forrest Wheeler. The series concluded its run in 2020.
