Overview

Fierce Town is a 2025 film set during the middle of the 12th century when the Mongolian Empire expanded from the Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas to the southern lands of China. The narrative centers on the Mongolian army under the command of Khan Batu, a force recognized for its invisibility and its tendency to destroy those who challenged its authority. Despite the empire's vast reach, certain territories within its central borders refused to submit to the Genghisids. One such location was the small town of Kozelsk. The Mongolian armies initially chose to bypass the high walls of this settlement, operating under the belief that the skin of the wolf was not worth the risk of encountering its teeth. The film explores the tension surrounding this defiant town and the subsequent actions of the Khan’s forces as they confront those who refuse to bow to their rule.
