Overview
Farscape is an Australian-American science fiction television series conceived by Rockne S. O'Bannon. The program was co-produced by The Jim Henson Company and Hallmark Entertainment, originally for the Nine Network. It premiered in North America on 19 March 1999 at 8:00 pm EST as part of the Sci-Fi Channel's SciFi Friday segment. The series features actors including Ben Browder, Claudia Black, Anthony Simcoe, and Lani John Tupu. The narrative begins when a freak accident during an experimental space mission catapults an Earth astronaut named John Crichton across a thousand galaxies to an alien battlefield. Following this event, the astronaut finds himself thrown into a distant part of the universe where he becomes part of a fugitive alien starship crew. The show explores the experiences of Crichton as he navigates this unfamiliar environment while traveling with his new companions. The production ran from 1999 until 2003, with episodes including titles such as DNA Mad Scientist and They've Got A Secret.
