Jake took the honest road and made an emotional speech in court. He confessed he was never Dave's carer but that he felt remorse and sorrow at his actions. He went down for 2 years. D.I Kirkdale was hot on Pete's trail; he lurked around the pub and threatened Pete that the game was up. Pete worried enough to burn any incriminating documents without a trace.
