Overview

Exit 8 is a 2025 Japanese mystery psychological horror film directed by Genki Kawamura. The screenplay was co-written by Kawamura and Kentaro Hirase, based on the 2023 video game The Exit 8 developed by Kotake Create. The film features a cast including Kazunari Ninomiya, Yamato Kochi, Naru Asanuma, and Kotone Hanase. The story follows a man who finds himself trapped in an endless, sterile subway passageway. To escape, he must successfully reach the eighth exit. The rules of his quest require him to observe his surroundings carefully; if he discovers an anomaly, he must turn back immediately. If no anomalies are present, he is to continue forward. The protagonist becomes increasingly desperate as he realizes that even a single oversight will send him back to the beginning of the corridor. He must navigate these conditions to complete his mission and ultimately escape the infinite station. The film explores the psychological tension of his repetitive journey as he attempts to reach his goal.
