Overview

Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance is a 2009 animated motion picture that depicts the ongoing struggle of humanity against a series of monstrous creatures known as Angels. These beings represent a persistent threat to the survival of the human race, necessitating a defensive response centered in the city of Tokyo-3. To bolster the efforts of the U.N. Special Agency NERV, two additional pilots are introduced to operate the organization's EVA units. These new recruits include the mysterious Makinami Mari Illustrous and the intense Asuka Langley Shikinami, both of whom join the fight to protect the city from destruction. This secret project specifically involves the characters Rei and Shinji, whose fates become increasingly intertwined with the broader goals of the agency.
