Escape to the Chateau 2020

Overview

Escape to the Chateau is a reality television series that documents the renovation of properties and the practical challenges of domestic living. The program features Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree, who provide guidance to families across the United Kingdom as they navigate various design and DIY dilemmas. This focus on home improvement gained particular relevance as many families spent significant time indoors, highlighting the importance of personal living spaces. In addition to offering advice to others, the series chronicles the experiences of British families who have purchased and restored French chateaux that had previously remained empty for decades. The show captures the labor-intensive process of these renovations, including tasks such as removing exterior render, preparing venues for weddings, and establishing potager gardens. Participants often balance these demanding projects with the responsibilities of raising children. The series provides insight into the realities of property restoration and the efforts required to transform historic structures into functional homes, reflecting the broader interest in renovation projects undertaken by individuals living abroad.
