During their journey, they meet a character named Kukuru. Kukuru tells Doraemon and the others that his tribe has been enslaved by a figure named Gigazombie. Upon learning of this enslavement, Doraemon decides to help Kukuru and his tribe. The original film series previously released a movie with the same title that commemorated the tenth anniversary of the film series. This 2016 release serves as a remake of that earlier film.
