Doraemon is a Japanese anime television series based on the manga of the same name created by Fujiko F. Fujio. The manga series was first serialized in 1969 and eventually collected into 45 volumes. The 1979 anime adaptation served as a successful successor to a previous 1973 series and aired until 2005. The narrative centers on the titular character, a robotic cat named Doraemon who is manufactured in a factory in the 22nd century. After arriving in the 20th century, the robotic cat resides with the Nobi family. The family members show great affection for their guest, and in return, Doraemon utilizes various devices from the future to assist them with their daily challenges. The series features voice performances by Nobuyo Oyama, Noriko Ohara, Kazuya Tatekabe, and Kaneta Kimotsuki.
