Dollhouse 2009

Overview

Dollhouse is a television series created by Joss Whedon that premiered in 2009. The show stars Eliza Dushku, Harry Lennix, Fran Kranz, and Tahmoh Penikett. The narrative centers on Echo, who is a member of an underground group of individuals known as Actives. These individuals reside in a secret facility called the Dollhouse. Their personalities are wiped clean so they can be imprinted with new personas, allowing them to fully adopt the mind, personality, and physiology required by wealthy and powerful clients for specific assignments. Between these missions, the Actives have no knowledge of any life outside of their current engagements. As the series progresses, the characters within the Los Angeles Dollhouse are forced to confront their moral complicity. The story explores a downward spiral that moves from moral grey areas toward the realization that the actions of the Dollhouse are ultimately problematic. The series concluded in 2010 after exploring the lives of these individuals who are hired to become whoever their clients need them to be.
