Di'Anno: Iron Maiden's Lost Singer 2025

Overview

Di'Anno: Iron Maiden's Lost Singer is a 2025 documentary film directed by Wes Orshoski that chronicles the life and career of Paul Andrews, better known as Paul Di'Anno. The film explores his tenure as the original vocalist for the heavy metal band Iron Maiden, serving as the predecessor to Bruce Dickinson. The documentary examines Di'Anno's departure from the group following the release of their second studio album, an exit attributed to his struggles with drug and alcohol use. The narrative further addresses the contractual circumstances surrounding his departure, specifically noting that he signed an agreement that excluded him from receiving song royalties as the band achieved greater fame. The documentary also captures the final years of Di'Anno's life prior to his death in October 2024. The film features appearances by various musicians, including James Hetfield, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Gary Holt, and Bruce Dickinson. Wes Orshoski, who previously co-directed the 2010 documentary Lemmy, directed this production, which has a runtime of one hour and thirty-seven minutes.
