Season overview

The second season of the Dhevaprom series, titled Kwanruetai, follows the story of a hardworking and generous young woman named Kwanruetai who lives with her mother, M.L. Maratee Dhevaprom. Kwanruetai is deeply committed to earning her mother's love and approval, unaware of the complexities surrounding her own past. While stationed in a northern province of Thailand, she encounters Major Dr. M.L. Chatklao Jutathep, a military doctor from a noble family. As the two grow closer, they find themselves entangled in dangerous circumstances involving local drug trafficking and criminal gangs. Although Chatklao develops romantic feelings for Kwanruetai, their relationship faces significant obstacles due to a long-standing estrangement between their families. M.L. Maratee remains strictly opposed to any connection between her daughter and Chatklao, fueled by a deep-seated resentment toward Chatklao's father, M.R. Phudhipat, who previously humiliated her by ending their betrothal to marry another woman. This historical conflict creates a profound internal struggle for Kwanruetai as she must decide whether to follow her heart or adhere to the rigid social and familial boundaries that have historically separated the Jutathep and Dhevaprom families.
