Overview

Dark Gathering is a Japanese anime television series that aired in 2023, based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Kenichi Kondo. The series is directed by Ikehata Hiroshi and produced by OLM. It follows Keitarou Gentouga, a reclusive young man with the ability to act as a spirit medium. After an incident in junior high school involving spirit possession, he has remained a shut-in for over two years. As he begins to reintegrate into society as a private tutor, he meets Yayoi Houzuki, a gifted girl who recognizes his psychic abilities and persuades him to join her in investigating haunted locations. Together, they embark on a journey to confront and capture malevolent spirits. The anime adaptation premiered in July 2023 and concluded its first season in December of the same year. A second season has been confirmed, though its release date remains unannounced. The show is categorized as a supernatural drama and is aimed at a shōnen demographic.
