Overview

Daniel Boone is an American action-adventure television series produced by 20th Century Fox Television. The show aired on NBC for 165 episodes between September 24, 1964, and September 10, 1970. Fess Parker stars in the title role as the frontier hero who conducts surveys and expeditions around Boonesborough. Throughout the series, the character interacts with both friendly and hostile individuals while navigating events occurring before, during, and after the Revolutionary War. The cast includes Patricia Blair and Darby Hinton. Ed Ames co-starred as Mingo, a Cherokee friend of Boone, for the first four seasons. Albert Salmi appeared as the companion Yadkin during the first season, while Dallas McKennon portrayed the innkeeper Cincinnatus. During the 1968 to 1970 seasons, country singer and actor Jimmy Dean was a featured performer in the role of Josh Clements. The series also featured actor and former NFL football player Rosey Grier. The program focuses on the challenges faced by the protagonist as he explores the frontier.
