Synopsis
Myra only pays Frank back £20. Stuart tells Emily he plans to see the Mission of Glad Tidings bursting, not close it. He wants to brighten up the Mission. Myra puts the £5 down on a deposit for a holiday. Val thinks of joining the congregation when she sees Stuart. The Representative from the hire purchase company tells Jerry that Myra hasn't paid the last two months' instalments. Martha finds it hard work coping with two jobs. Jerry discovers Myra has not paid the mortgage for three months. She tells Jerry she is pregnant.

In this episode of Coronation Street, financial troubles mount as Myra only pays Frank back twenty pounds. Instead of clearing her debts, Myra puts five pounds down as a deposit for a holiday. Meanwhile, Martha struggles with the heavy workload of coping with two jobs.
Stuart shares his intentions with Emily regarding the Mission of Glad Tidings, explaining that he plans to see the mission bursting rather than close it, and wants to brighten it up. Upon seeing Stuart, Val considers joining the congregation.
Trouble catches up with Myra when a representative from the hire purchase company visits Jerry to inform him that Myra has failed to pay the last two months of instalments. Jerry's concerns deepen when he subsequently discovers that Myra has also not paid the mortgage for three months. Confronted with these financial discoveries, Myra drops a bombshell on Jerry by revealing that she is pregnant.
