Synopsis
Swindley reveals he has been promoted to Administration at Gamma Garments' Head Office. Jerry tries to get Len to invite Elsie to the Federation Dance. Ken ignores Ena because of Michael. Elsie agrees to go to the Dance on Wednesday. Ena worries what will happen to Michael as the residents turn against her. Dennis books a table at a posh restaurant to treat Elsie, but also on Wednesday.

In this episode of Coronation Street, Swindley reveals that he has received a promotion to Administration at the head office of Gamma Garments. Elsewhere, Jerry attempts to persuade Len to invite Elsie to the upcoming Federation Dance. Meanwhile, Ken chooses to ignore Ena because of Michael, while Ena worries about what will ultimately happen to Michael as the local residents begin to turn against her. Elsie ultimately agrees to go to the dance on Wednesday. However, a scheduling conflict arises when Dennis books a table at a posh restaurant to treat Elsie, also for Wednesday.
