Synopsis
The assistants celebrate at Miami Modes when they discover Mrs Dumbarton is leaving. They are told one of them will be promoted. Frank cashes in his policies and signs the shop's lease. Martha reports the missing book and tells Ena it's gone. Christine and Elsie think Dot will get the supervisor's job. Jerry asks Sheila to go steady with him. Ken returns Ena's pension book after a schoolboy finds it. She discovers that this week's pension has been drawn.

At Miami Modes, the assistants celebrate the news that Mrs Dumbarton is leaving, and they are informed that one of them will receive a promotion. Christine and Elsie believe that Dot will be the one to secure the supervisor's job. Meanwhile, Frank cashes in his policies and signs the lease for the shop.
Elsewhere, Martha reports that the missing book is gone and informs Ena. Ken returns Ena's pension book after a schoolboy finds it, but upon getting it back, Ena discovers that this week's pension has already been drawn. In romantic developments, Jerry asks Sheila to go steady with him.
