In this episode of Coronation Street, broadcast on Monday, January 15, 1962, the residents of the street continue their daily lives. Minnie's mother begins banging on the ceiling, which starts to get to Ena. Feeling she has to move on from fifteen Jubilee Terrace, Ena decides to leave. Upon hearing that Ena has gone, Minnie's mother gets up. Ena attempts to find somewhere to stay and approaches Martha, but Martha cannot take her in because Lily's family is staying with her. Ultimately, Ena arrives back to stay at the Mission.

Elsewhere, Elsie and Dennis use the phone at Miami Modes to call Linda. Dennis also cooks Elsie a meal as a thank you for defending him. Dennis's cheque for eight pounds and sixteen shillings finally arrives from Lenny Phillips, and the Walkers cash it. Meanwhile, Florrie takes to dressing up and going out. The series follows these ordinary, working-class people through their regular social and family interactions at home.
