In this episode of Coronation Street, broadcast on Monday, May 21, 1962, Billy and Philippa return home at three o'clock in the morning. Meanwhile, Esther makes an announcement that she is leaving the Street to move to Moor Lane. Both Len and Ken find themselves becoming preoccupied with Philippa. During the visit, Philippa sets up a sunlamp in the living room. While Billy is outside busy repairing the car, Ken stays inside to entertain her. Unfortunately, the sunlamp causes a mishap by burning the tablecloth. In the ensuing confusion and commotion that follows the accident, Annie walks in and discovers Philippa with her arms around Ken.
