The Computer Chronicles is an American television series broadcast on Public Broadcasting Service public television. Created in the Fall of 1981, it initially aired as a local weekly series. The series documented the rise of the personal computer. It was created by Stewart Cheifet, then the station manager of the College of San Mateo's KCSM-TV. Jim Warren was its founding host for its early seasons. The series aired continuously from its inception until 2002 with Stewart Cheifet co-hosting most of its later seasons. Gary Kildall served in an unspecified role. The series was broadcast on PBS public television for nearly two decades.
