In season one, episode seven hundred ninety-five of C.I.D., titled Kissa Daya Aur Lapata Bacche Ka - Part 1, a woman arrives at the bureau to report that her baby has been kidnapped. She further explains that her husband went to pay the ransom for the child and has subsequently gone missing. Responding to the case, the C.I.D. team travels to the designated location to investigate the situation. Upon arrival, they discover the husband lying dead at the scene. They also find Daya unconscious. When Daya regains consciousness, he insists that he did not kill the man. The episode follows these initial developments as the team begins to look into the circumstances surrounding the infant's kidnapping, the husband's death, and Daya's presence at the crime scene.
