In season one, episode five hundred twenty-two of C.I.D., titled Khooni Necklace, Fredricks is invited to attend the film launch of actress Shyla's daughter. During the event on the night of the launch, a technical issue occurs and the lights go out for a few minutes. When the lights return, certain pieces of jewelry are discovered to be missing from the venue.

To resolve the theft, nobody in attendance is allowed to leave the premises until everyone has been thoroughly searched. To the surprise of everyone present, a stolen bracelet is recovered directly from Fredricks. Following this discovery, the other guests immediately turn on him and level accusations against him. However, Fredricks firmly refuses the allegations, leaving open the question of whether he could have possibly turned to the dark side.

This concise episode follows the tense events of the film launch party, the sudden blackout, the subsequent disappearance of valuable jewelry, and the shocking moment when suspicion falls directly on one of their own due to the physical evidence recovered during the search of the guests.
