In episode one thousand four hundred thirty-one of the television series C.I.D., titled Agni Pariksha, Dilip suffers a fatal incident when he gets burnt to death during a party, delivering a severe shock to his family. Following the tragedy, the members of the C.I.D. team begin investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. During the course of their inquiry, the team discovers that both Dilip and his business partner, Rohan, were responsible for a criminal case that occurred nine years prior. The central question of the investigation focuses on whether the C.I.D. team will be successful in finding the person responsible for murdering Dilip.
