Overview
Bofuri: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense is a television series that premiered on January 8, 2020. The story follows Kaede Honjou, who is invited by her friend Risa Shiramine to participate in a virtual reality massively multiplayer online game. Because Kaede dislikes experiencing pain, she creates a character named Maple and allocates all of her status points into vitality to maximize her defense. Although this choice initially leaves her character moving slowly and unable to utilize magic, it leads to the acquisition of unique abilities. By focusing on her defense, Maple gains skills such as Absolute Defense, which allows her to nullify damage, as well as a counter skill for special moves. Additionally, she obtains other overpowered skills including poison immunity and a move called Devour. As she progresses through the game, Maple utilizes these defensive capabilities and powerful items to navigate the virtual world. The series was created by Yuumikan and features a cast including Kaede Hondo and Ruriko Noguchi.
