Overview

Beavis and Butt-Head is an American adult animated comedy television series created by Mike Judge. The show first aired on the cable network MTV in March 1993. The series follows two dimwitted, slow-witted teenagers named Beavis and Butt-Head who live in the fictional town of Highland, Texas. The duo spends much of their time sitting on a couch discussing heavy-metal music, television, and nachos. Their everyday exploits include attempting to score with girls at a local convenience store, slacking off at school, and wreaking havoc while working at a burger joint. The series is known for its slice-of-life short subjects and for having the characters provide commentary on music videos. The program originated from animated shorts created by Judge, such as Frog Baseball, which were broadcast on MTV. The franchise has also expanded beyond television, with two films released titled Beavis and Butt-Head Do America in 1996 and Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe in 2022. The main characters are voiced by Mike Judge.
