Batman is a television series that aired on the ABC Television Network from January 12, 1966, to March 14, 1968. Created by William Dozier, Lorenzo Semple Jr., and Bill Finger, the program ran for two and a half seasons. The series followed the adventures of wealthy entrepreneur Bruce Wayne, known as Batman, and his ward Dick Grayson, known as Robin. The duo lived a double life as a crime-fighting team in Gotham City. They utilized a secret Batpole in the Wayne mansion to access the Batcave and used the Batmobile to reach crime scenes. Police Commissioner Gordon often contacted them there to report emergencies. Equipped with a utility belt, the pair worked to thwart various master criminals, including The Joker, The Riddler, The Penguin, and Catwoman. The show aired twice a week, featuring a format where the first episode concluded in a cliffhanger that was resolved at the start of the second episode. The series featured actors including Adam West, Burt Ward, Alan Napier, and Neil Hamilton.
