Avenger of the Seven Seas is a 1962 Italian epic adventure film directed by Domenico Paolella and starring Richard Harrison and Michèle Mercier. Known alternatively by its Italian title Il giustiziere dei mari, its French title Le Boucanier des îles, and as The Executioner of the Seas, the film runs for one hour and thirty minutes and was released on March 21, 1962. Set in the year 1790, the story follows British Naval Commander Redway, who is motivated by a greed for money and will stop at nothing to acquire it. His second in command, David Robinson, begins to question his allegiance after Redway kills David's father and takes his brother prisoner. To save his brother and seek vengeance for his father's murder, David must align himself with a band of pirates led by Captain Bernard in order to hunt down and kill Redway.
