Overview
Aria is an anime television series that originally aired between 2005 and 2008. The story is set in the early 24th century within the city of Neo Venezia, located on the planet Mars. In this future, the planet is no longer a barren red landscape but has been transformed into an inhabited world that serves as a tourist destination. Because the planet has been flooded, gondolas serve as the primary mode of transportation for visitors seeking rest and relaxation. The narrative focuses on the professional gondoliers known as Undines, who act as tour guides for travelers. The series follows the experiences of Akari Mizunashi, who is an Undine in training. Adapted from the science fiction manga series Aqua and Aria by Kozue Amano, the show features voice acting performances by Erino Hazuki, Chiwa Saito, and Ryo Hirohashi. The production was directed by Kazunobu Fuseki. The series is also known by the title Aria the Animation.
