Seisaku Nakamura was born in 1924 in Hamamatsu, Japan, to a middle-class family. Having been born deaf, Nakamura was treated poorly by his own family and grew up as a social outcast. Nevertheless, Nakamura was known to be a polite and respectful boy who endured his condition without complaints. He was also very intelligent and got good grades in school.
