Season overview

In the fifth season of the survival competition series Alone, ten returning participants seek a second chance at victory. The contestants are placed in the remote and frigid wilderness of Mongolia, located at the edge of Siberia. As in previous iterations of the series, the participants must endure complete isolation without the presence of camera crews, teams, or producers. Each individual is tasked with self-documenting their daily experiences while relying solely on their wilderness expertise and the limited gear contained within a small backpack. The objective remains to survive in the harsh environment for as long as possible, testing the limits of human will and endurance. The season focuses on these returning survivalists as they navigate the challenges of the Mongolian landscape, attempting to apply lessons from their past experiences to secure a successful outcome. The production maintains the established format of the series, where participants are left entirely alone to manage their own survival needs, including shelter, food, and protection from the elements, while capturing their own footage throughout the duration of their stay in this unforgiving and remote geographical location.
