Akayla is a 1991 Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Ramesh Sippy and produced by the Mushir and Riaz duo. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Amrita Singh, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Aditya Pancholi, Kiran Juneja, Keith Stevenson in his debut, and Shashi Kapoor. The story follows Inspector Vijay Verma, who successfully captures the criminal mastermind Jojo. However, Jojo manages to escape from jail and seeks revenge by killing Vijay's friends. This tragic turn of events leaves Inspector Vijay Verma determined to fulfill a vendetta of his own. The film falls into the thriller, action, and drama genres, and was released in India on November 8, 1991. The musical score for the production was composed by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma, with playback singing contributions from Sudesh Bhosle.
