Overview
Akame ga Kill! is a 2014 anime television series produced by White Fox. The story follows Tatsumi, a young man from a rural village who travels to the capital to earn money for his impoverished community. Upon arriving, he encounters a corrupt and oppressive regime led by a ruthless Prime Minister who controls the child Emperor. Tatsumi is eventually recruited by Night Raid, a group of assassins committed to overthrowing the corrupt government by eliminating its key figures. Among the members of Night Raid is Akame, a skilled assassin known for wielding the Demon Sword Murasame. The series explores themes of justice, morality, and rebellion as Tatsumi adapts to his new role within the organization. A prequel manga titled Akame ga Kill! Zero was also published, expanding on the backstory of the characters and world. The anime aired from July to December 2014 and consists of 24 episodes. It has since been made available on streaming platforms such as Netflix and Crunchyroll.
