Afghan Luke is a 2011 Canadian war drama film directed by Mike Clattenburg. The central character is Luke Benning, played by Nick Stahl, a journalist who becomes disheartened when his story regarding Canadian snipers possibly mutilating corpses in Afghanistan is buried. Luke quits his job and is determined to return to Afghanistan to get the real story and gather enough evidence to get his old story into print.
His offbeat buddy, Tom, played by Nicolas Wright, tags along for the trip. Upon their return, Luke soon discovers that the country is an even more dangerous place than it was when he left. Complicating matters further, his old friend and fixer, Mateen, played by Stephen Lobo, has been hired away by Luke's journalistic nemesis, Imran Sahar, played by Vik. The film has a runtime of one hour and forty minutes and is rated R.
