A Missed Fortune is a 1952 short subject directed by Jules White and starring the American slapstick comedy team The Three Stooges, consisting of Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Shemp Howard. The short film was released in the United States on January 3, 1952. In the film, Shemp wins fifty thousand dollars in a radio contest, leading the stooges to move into the Hotel Costa Plente. While staying there, they live it up and wreck their fancy suite. While waiting for the prize money to arrive, the boys are pursued by three gold-digging dames who are after their winnings. However, when the check finally arrives, it is only for four dollars and eighty-five cents after tax deductions. The comedy short runs for seventeen minutes and features a full cast and crew directed by Jules White, highlighting the classic antics of the well-known comedy trio.
