Liar Game is a television series categorized as a drama and crime show that premiered in 2007. The story follows Nao Kanzaki, an honest and naive college student who receives one hundred million yen one day along with a card indicating she has been chosen to take part in the Liar Game. The objective of the game is to trick other players out of their money. At the end of the competition, the winner keeps the one hundred million yen, while the loser is left with a debt of one hundred million yen.
The day after receiving the money, Nao is notified that her opponent in the game is her former teacher, Kazuo Fujisawa. She visits him to ask for help, but he tricks her into handing over her money. Desperate, Nao seeks assistance from the police, but they are unable to help her. She is then informed about a master swindler named Shin'ichi Akiyama, who is scheduled to be released from jail the following day. In her desperation, Nao decides to go to him for help.
