Yashar Nuri
Biography
Yashar Nuri, also rendered Yaşar Nuri, was a male Azerbaijani actor born on 3 September 1951 in Baku, then part of the Azerbaijan SSR, USSR. He began his stage career at age eleven, portraying Tapdyga in the play “Whose wedding is this?” at the Azerbaijan State Theater of Musical Comedy. After graduating from secondary school No. 173 in Baku in 1968, he entered the faculty of film acting at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts. Nuri became a member of the Azerbaijan State Academic Drama Theatre and built a prolific career, appearing in more than fifty Azerbaijani and Soviet‑era films and in excess of one hundred television and stage productions. He died on 22 November 2012 at the age of 61.

Recognised primarily as an actor, his contributions spanned cinema, television, and theatre, establishing him as a prominent figure in Azerbaijani performing arts until his death on 22 November 2012 at the age of sixty‑one.
