Yanna McIntosh is a Jamaican born Canadian actress who works in television, film, and theatre. Born in 1970, she is sometimes credited as Yanna MacIntosh. McIntosh studied at the American Repertory Theatre Institute at Harvard University and the University of Toronto. She has held teaching positions at Humber College and the National Theatre School, where she directed student productions of Richard III, Julius Caesar, and Macbeth. In 2007, she won a Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Supporting Role for her part as Pat Barrows in the 2006 television movie Doomstown. In 2011, she became the first recipient of the Toronto Theatre Critics Award for Best Actress in a Play for her role in Ruined.
