Wayne Anthony Allwine (February 7, 1947 – May 18, 2009) was an American voice actor who worked for The Walt Disney Company as a sound‑effects editor and foley artist as well as a performer. Born in Glendale, California, Allwine began his most notable acting work in 1977 when he became the voice of Mickey Mouse, a role he continued for 32 years until his death in 2009. His tenure as Mickey made him the longest‑serving voice of the character to date, succeeding Jimmy MacDonald, who had taken over the part from Walt Disney in 1947. Allwine’s first credited performance as Mickey was in 1977, marking the start of a multi‑decade association with the iconic figure.

During his career Allwine contributed to a wide range of Disney productions, providing vocal work for Mickey in television shows, theme‑park attractions and special releases.
