Vladimir Ivashov
Biography
Vladimir Ivashov was a Soviet and Russian actor. Born on August 28, 1939, in Moscow, USSR, he graduated from the Moscow-based VGIK film school in 1963. Ivashov received a prize at the 1959 Cannes Film Festival for his performance in the lead role in Grigory Chukhrai's film 'Ballad of a Soldier'. He appeared in several films including 'Clouds Over Borsk', 'The Seven Nurses', and 'An Aunt With Violets'. Ivashov also starred in Lermontov adaptations by Stanislav Rostotski, playing the lead role of Pechorin. He left a notable performance in the 1976 film 'Diamonds for Proletarian Dictator'. Ivashov passed away on March 23, 1995, at the age of 55.
