At age fourteen, Repin made his debuts in Tokyo, Munich, Berlin, and Helsinki, followed a year later by a performance in Carnegie Hall. At seventeen, he became the youngest winner of the violin section of the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition in Brussels, later serving on its jury.
