Tomoko Naraoka was a Japanese actress and narrator born on December 1, 1929, in Komagome, Hongō, located in Tokyo City, Japan. She was the daughter of a painter and graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design. Naraoka made her cinema debut as an actress in the 1949 film Chijin no Ai, which was based on the novel Naomi. Her subsequent film appearances included the 1981 film Rengō Kantai, also known by the United States title The Imperial Navy, the 1988 movie Torajirō Sarada Kinenbi in the Otoko wa Tsurai yo series, and eight films in the Tsuribaka Nisshi series. She also appeared in several NHK Taiga dramas, beginning with her first in 1969. Tomoko Naraoka passed away on March 23, 2023, at the age of 93.
