Timothy Kevin Story is an American film director born in Los Angeles, California on March 13, 1970. He attended Los Angeles Westchester High School, where he served as senior class president and attended alongside jazz pianist Eric Reed and actresses Regina King and Nia Long. Story is best known for directing Barbershop, Fantastic Four, and the Ride Along franchise. He has received two nominations for NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Directing in a Feature Film or Television Movie in 2006 and 2013. In 1996, he founded the production company The Story Company alongside his future wife, Vicky. Story is also noted as the first African American film director to gross over one billion US dollars at the box office.
