Thure Lindhardt is a Danish actor born on 24 December 1974 in Copenhagen and raised in Roskilde. He trained at the drama school of Odense Theatre, graduating in 1998. At twelve he appeared in Bille August’s film Pelle the Conqueror. His Danish breakthrough came as an autistic boy in A Place Nearby, sharing the screen with Ghita Nørby. He has since performed in a range of films and series, including Into the Wild, Love in Thoughts, Sugar Rush, Princess, Rejseholdet and the World War II resistance drama Flame & Citron opposite Mads Mikkelsen. Most recently he portrayed Swiss Guard Lieutenant Chartrand. His father, Mogens Lindhardt, is a pastor and rector of a Copenhagen pastoral seminary; his mother is Anne Lindhardt.
