Biography
Susan Hayward was an American actress born on June 30, 1917, and died on March 14, 1975. She began her career as a fashion model in New York before traveling to Hollywood in 1937 to audition for Gone With the Wind. Hayward secured a film contract and played several small supporting roles before achieving recognition for her dramatic abilities with an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her performance in Smash-Up, the Story of a Woman. Her career continued successfully through the 1950s and she won an Academy Award. She was known for playing courageous women fighting to overcome adversity in films.
